About AAA
The Association of Architects, Assam was founded in the year 1981 and registered as a Society by 1985–86 by a group of architects to represent their views and issues related to the profession. Its endeavour is to work towards the upliftment of the community of architects, bring about public consciousness in architecture, and contribute towards the improvement of built spaces and architecture in the State of Assam and the North East. It currently has more than 250 practicing architects as its members.
All qualified architects are eligible for its membership, and the AAA actively encourages new members to join the fraternity at AAA.
The Association of Architects has its registered office in Sreenagar, Guwahati, and is governed by its Executive Council. The election for the Executive Council is held every two years as per the Constitution of AAA.
Since its inception, it has been actively involved in various social and urban improvement causes that affect the common people and has organised various seminars, building material exhibitions, and events to carry forward its message and to have a firsthand experience of advancements in building materials and technology.
Over the years the AAA has been a member of various government-constituted committees and forums to review and contribute towards the new Guwahati Master Plan, Building Bye-Laws, and other government policy documents.
